INDIVIDUAL COUNSELLING

Individual counselling is a cooperative and respectful process between therapist and client to facilitate change. As a client, you will be provided a safe, confidential, and supportive environment to pursue the work and change for which you seek.

Engaging in counselling during challenging times takes courage and commitment. The benefits of counselling can lead to greater self-awareness, insight and strength to face the challenges of life, to find hope and meaning.

RELATIONSHIP COUNSELLING

Relationships are central to our psychological health. Healthy and supportive relationships with friends, family, and partners are associated with increases psychological wellbeing, and reduced levels of depression and stress. However, relationships can be complicated, and building and maintaining healthy relationships can be difficult. People seek counselling for couple conflict, relationship breakdown, poor communication, marriage counselling, infidelity, difficulties in relationships with colleagues, friends, and family members.

FAMILY COUNSELLING

Family therapy can help marriages, couples and families withstand the stress that comes along with some of life’s challenges.

Divorce, communication difficulties, parenting, grief and loss are only a few of life stressors that therapy can be useful for.

Our trained and experienced therapists can help you improve your communication skills, gain insight into how family of origin issues may relate to your current difficulties and help you improve family relationships.

Feelings of worth can flourish only in an atmosphere where individual differences are appreciated, mistakes are tolerated, communication is open, and rules are flexible – the kind of atmosphere that is found in a nurturing family.” – Virginia Satir, Author and Psychotherapist

CHILDREN AND ADOLESCENT COUNSELLING

Our therapists are available to help your child or teenager with emotional, behavioral and social challenges. Counselling can help your child understand, manage and overcome many different personal challenges, such as: anxiety, depression, anger, friendship problems, etc.

The initial session is usually for parents only (sometimes older teenagers may attend). This is so we can discuss all the issues openly.

GROUP THERAPY

Group therapy provides unique benefits, like multiple listeners and perspectives whilst learning that you are not alone in your experiences. Usually groups include other people with similar symptoms and severity; you also benefit from the support, understanding and empathy of fellow sufferers. You’ll even help them!
